New to crypto? The basics

What is FUD?

FUD stands for fear, uncertainty and doubt. It is any news that makes people nervous about crypto: hacks, exchanges stopping withdrawals, scams, lawsuits, crashes. Some of it is serious, some of it turns out to be nothing.

Does a headline here mean my money is at risk?

Usually not. Most stories only matter if you use the exact app, exchange or token named. Open the story to see who is affected. If it is a service you use, check its official X account or website before doing anything.

What does "unconfirmed" and "~" mean?

Unconfirmed means money clearly moved, but the company has not said it was stolen yet. The "~" sign means the amount is an estimate, because the first numbers come from people reading the blockchain and they often disagree.

How can you see where stolen money goes?

Every crypto transfer is public. When an attacker's wallet is known, FudMap shows how much is still in it right now and links to Arkham, a tool that labels wallets so you can follow the money step by step.
